USG J1969 All Purpose is 1.0 gallon per 100 sq ft of gypsum panels. Plus 3 Lightweight is a separate 0.9 gal/100 line — do not mix them on one ticket. Pails are 4.5 gallons: pailsBuy = ceil(gallonsExact / 4.5). Room geometry matches the drywall sheet calculator. 10% extra is convention; USG does not publish 10%.

What calculator.net does not show
Most mud widgets invent a “gallon per sheet” rule and then add starter-style padding. J1969 is gallons per 1,000 sq ft of panels (10 gal → 1.0 per 100). Plus 3 is a different product: this site locks 0.9 gal/100 and will not blend J498A’s 9.4 gal/1,000 onto the All Purpose line. Need 4×8 UltraLight sheets? That is a different calculator.
Shelf price for a 4.5 gal pail is zip-localized here. The field starts empty. We will not invent one.
Worked US example: 12×12 room, 8 ft walls, ceiling on
Same net as the drywall sheet fixture: 1 door, 1 window. All Purpose J1969, then the Plus 3 toggle.
Gross walls = 2 × (12 + 12) × 8 = 384 sq ft
Ceiling = 144 sq ft
Openings = 35 sq ft
Net panels = 493 sq ft (same as /drywall-calculator)
J1969 1.0 gal/100
USG gallons = 493 ÷ 100 × 1.0 = 4.93 gal
10% conv. = 4.93 × 1.10 = 5.423 gal
pailsBuy = ceil(5.423 / 4.5) = 2 pails
Cost = $ null
Plus 3 0.9 gal/100 (not mixed onto the 1.0 line)
USG gallons = 493 ÷ 100 × 0.9 = 4.437 gal
10% conv. = 4.881 gal → ceil(4.881 / 4.5) = 2 pails
